Stainless when the coolant runs hot, carries fines, or has chemistry that chews up a poly belt, and in parts washers. Poly for ordinary water-soluble coolant at shop temperature.
Which reach do I order?
Measure from where the skimmer will mount down to the coolant surface at its normal level and order the next reach up. When in doubt, send two photos through the contact page and we tell you.
Will the belt survive my fluid?
Coolant sumps and mild solutions, yes. Anything containing hydrochloric acid will fail the belt. For hot or caustic wash tanks use the full-stainless version, which puts the case and bearings in stainless too.
Can it run all the time?
Yes. It is designed to run continuously; most shops leave it on or put it on a timer.
