Machinist mixers allow for consistent fluid mixing and provides superior emulsions resulting in consistent concentration values. Maintaining consistent concentration values in your coolant extends sump and tool life while improving machined surfaces. It also provides a savings for raw material usage.
Note: the maximum length for the discharge tube is 40 inches, the mixer will not function properly with a longer discharge tube.

HOW IT WORKS
Venturi pumps are commonly used for coolant mixers. The moving water across the coolant orifice creates a low pressure zone drawing coolant into the water stream. The combination of the two laminar flows creates a strong turbulent zone in which the two fluids are thoroughly mixed. Since there are no moving parts, the pump has a very high degree of reliability. The needle valve allows for a high degree of precision for setting the proportion of coolant mixed in with the water.

Venturi machinist mixers require a minimum pressure of 25 psi and is limited to a 40″ discharge length. For distances exceeding 40″ it is recommend switching to a Proportioning Pump.Â
TEST METHOD
With a 5-gallon pail marked in gallons, fill the pail to the one gallon mark with the water valve fully opened. If you fill to the 1 gallon mark in 20 seconds there is enough pressure for our 3 gpm unit. If you fill to the 1 gallon mark in 6 seconds there is enough pressure for our 10 gpm unit.
WHEN USING COOLANTS WITH SUS RATINGS GREATER THAN 500
In general, use a Proportioning Pump to mix coolants with viscosities greater than 500 SUS. However, the 10gpm MIX1027 and the MIX10725 have proven up to the challenge in the field (contact us for details).
